Amelanchier Lamarkii

Known as the Snowy Mespilus, The Amelanchier is a delightful small tree or large shrub that really offers year round interest, in March the branches are covered with froths of star - shaped white flowers in conical heads, then coppery pink young leaves unfold, from July onwards the tree is studded with dark red berries which turn purple - black as they ripen, in summer the leaves become yellow-green, but will turn scarlet & crimson before falling in the Autumn. It also attracts bees & other pollinators
