Chasmanthium latifolium

An unusual form of wild oat grass, that bears delicate spikes of flat diamond, oat like flower heads that become copper seed heads over broad bamboo like foliage from July to August. Will cope with a wide range of conditions, but prefers dappled shade in a moist but drained soil.

Betonica (Stachys) officinalis 'Hummelo'

A compact bushy perennial, with lovely lavender -pink flowers from June to August, above clump forming rosettes of dark green foliage. A real bee & butterfly magnet, thriving in full sun, tolerating light shade & prefers well drained soil conditions. Ideal as a ground cover & in naturalistic planting schemes.

This plant is both deer & rabbit proof & the Hummelo variety is named after Piet Oudolfs garden being much used in lots of his schemes.

Sanguisorba menziesii

Known as Menzies burnet, a vigorous clump forming perennial that is a native of Alaska. Its ruby-coloured bottlebrush flowers on tall stems are produced from late Summer into the Autumn months, combining well with grasses and other perennials mid border to give a classic look. Very popular with pollinating insects it prefers a moist, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade.

Calamagrostis Brachytria

'Feather Reed Grass' A lovely ornamental grass with stunning feathery plumes held above light green foliage from June onwards, delicately moving in the slightest breeze, a great accent plant, or massed planted in large groups .


Prefers full sun and a well drained but moist soil to be at their very best, but will also grow well at a woodland edge in part shade with a damp soil. Ht 1m x Sp 60cm

Helenium 'Sahins early Flowerer'

This variety Helenium 'Sahins early flowerer' produces masses of yellow, gold, orange, red to ochre toned flowers from quite early summer & later into the autumn months.


Known as the 'Sneezewort' These plants have become tremendously popular in recent years thanks to the trend of 'Prairie Style' planting schemes.

Cornus 'Annys Winter Orange'

Cornus sanguinea 'Annys Winter Orange'

Known as the 'European Dogwood' a stunning deciduous shrub best known for its winter effect once all its leaves have dropped. This cornus has oval dark green leaves and small creamy white flowers in May.


But the really stunningly bright, orange red flushed stems are its main attribute giving a cheer to the winter months, planted alongside other yellow, red, or purple stemmed dogwoods and other winter interest plants you can have colour even in the darkest months. Prefers full sun in any soil even waterlogged.

Rudbeckia Laciniata

A stunning giant Rudbeckia with its tall elegant upright stems, which are self supporting, topped with distinctive , drooping, yellow petalled green - centred cone like flowers, rising from fresh divided foliage.

Very upright in habit so can be grown at the very back of a border, or moved forward to provide an accent point in a more random naturalistic planting. Perfect for creating late-summer colour in ornamental borders working well in prairie -style schemes with ornamental grasses. Stout enough not to require staking must be grown in full sun in well drained soil and will increase steadily.

Flowers from July to October, stands well through the winter very effective covered in Autumn dew & Winter frost !

Carex comosa

Carex Comosa also known as the bottlebrush sedge due to its large, lime-green bottlebrush shaped spikes which turn golden brown when ripe carried aloft arching lustrous lime green leaves.

Its a slow growing clump-forming sedge with a fibrous root system that prefers a moist and even wet or boggy site, in full sun to part shade. Great in boggy areas, or near ponds and streams.

Our Mail order service provides quality plants carefully packaged, using as many recycled materials as we can with the minimal amount of plastics.

Woodforde Farm, Weston Green Rd, Weston Longville, Norfolk , NR9 5LG, 

Please note; we are NOT in the village of Weston Longville, we are situated in the middle of nowhere 

(or in the sticks if you are Norfolk born) between Hockering on the A47 and Lenwade on the A1067,

Tucked away in a quiet corner of a farm on the remnants of a WW2 American Airbase, lots of hidden history

Directions

From the village of Hockering on the A47 continue out of the village towards Lenwade, and you will come across our grey & white signs at the T junction end of Heath rd.


From Lenwade on the A1067 turn onto Weston Hall rd towards the Roaarr (Dinosaur park) or Royal Norfolk Golf Club, and continue without turning off for 2 & 1/2 miles & you will find our grey & white signs to direct you in. There are also bright orange signs for the Wat arun buddhist centre at the main entrance and we are very close to TMA bark supplies. Good luck.

A47 road Closures

An update for all our lovely customers trying to find the nursery whilst the A47 is closed at the Honingham / Wood Lane Junction until March 26 ! (YES 5 MONTHS!) We can still be accessed as normal from The Hockering junction on the A47 then out on Heath rd heading towards Lenwade where you will find our signs at the junction with Rectory rd. Also for those coming from The Fakenham rd side, although the signs at Lenwade, the turning for Roaarrr & the Norwich golf club say the rd is closed for traffic through to the A47, it is not, carry on as normal heading towards Hockering and you once again come across our signs. Good Luck, we are open Weds to Fri 10am to 4pm
