Astrantia major 'Gill Richardson Group'

Known as 'Masterwort' or Hatties pincushion' The Astrantias are charming hardy perennials with fresh green small palmate leaves which are topped by neat pincushion flowers on short stems. A real old Cottage garden effect plant. ideal in a mixed border, they prefer sun to part shade in a moist but draining soil, but will also tolerate drier soils under trees.

This particular variety has darker foliage with deep crimson flowers from June onwards.
