Known as the 'Siberian Dogwood' a stunning deciduous shrub best known for its winter effect once all its leaves have dropped! This cornus has large, ovate leaves that turn shades of yellow, orange to red in the autumn, and small creamy white flowers in May. But the really stunningly coloured stems of orange-yellow with bright red tips are its main attribute giving a cheer to the winter months, planted alongside other yellow, red or orange stemmed dogwoods and other winter interest plants you can have colour even in the darkest months.
Prefers full sun in any soil even waterlogged. For the best stem colours you will need to cut the plant back hard to around 10cm from the ground in March every other year & the new growth will then attain a lovely colour for the next season.
