Cornus alba 'Miracle'

Cornus alba 'Miracle' is a new red stemmed dogwood giving four seasons of colour and interest!

Attractive variegated foliage starts in Spring green with a cream margin, but then as the first pairs of leaves open in spring each leaf becomes brightly suffused pink with an irregular bronzed central zone, striped with red veins.

In high summer, the pink tends to fade, but then returns into the autumn with increasingly deeper reddish tones until the foliage falls revealing the deep red stems bringing new long lasting colour to the winter garden.

Prefers full sun in a fertile moist, but drained soil .

For the best stem colours you will need to cut the plant back hard to around 5-8cm from the ground in March every other year & the new stem growth will then attain a lovely colour for the next Winter season.
