The Chocolate cosmos is a tender Mexican perennial grown for its dark chocolate coloured flowers which also emit a chocolate/vanilla scent ! making it very attractive to pollinating insects.
Cosmos is sun loving preferring a fertile but well drained soil, the flowers and stems last well into the autumn. As this plant is tender you can lift the tubers which will have formed to overwinter indoors, or you can mulch well in the Autumn to protect or grow in pots which can be moved into a frost free area.
