Early Season Grasses

This section features the type of grasses that we describe as being “early season”, that is, they have their greatest impact in your garden in the spring and early summer when many of them flower with a delicate charm, providing a perfect foil to bright coloured perennials at this time of the year.

They range from smaller mound forming plants, into taller upright varieties with shimmering , dancing flower heads that hold right through the summer and provide a link to the later flowering plants and grasses of late summer to early autumn. Plant as infill to borders, or as specimen plants especially at stratgic points in the mixed border or in containers.
