Known as the 'the rough horsetail' an ancient plant from pre history that covered much of tropical Britain, a moisture loving or marginal pond plant, must be grown in a container as it can be very vigorous, kept contained however it can be very effective in a contemporary trough or pot.With a strong vertical accent it has unusual stout, evergreen stems, banded with black, giving a very architectural feel. It will grow in full sun to deep shade.
