Eryngium alpinum superbum

known as the 'Blue Sea Holly' this versatile group of statuesque thistle like, drought loving, flowering perennials are ideal in poor, well drained soil in full sun. A magnet for bees & much used as a cut flower. Ideal in mixed borders or as accent plants in a gravel garden.

This particular unusual variety has gorgeous, intense steely grey, to rich royal blue in colour thistle like flower heads, over glaucous foliage from July onwards.
