Geranium

Hardy Geraniums, commonly known as "cranesbills" due to the shape of the flower stamens, are reliable, very adaptable perennials . Much loved by bees and all other pollinators giving a long season of nectar & pollen. Many of them flower from late Spring until the first frosts, particularly when given the treatment of cutting back hard after the first flush of flowers ( sometimes known s the Chelsea chop!). Preferring a moist but well drained soil they grow well in full sun or shade & range from low growing forms suitable for edging or the front of a border, to larger mid border height varieties.
