Geum rivale

Chocolate root or 'water Avens' are naturalising hardy perennial , cottage garden favourites. they are low growing, weed suppressing clump formers, for the front of a border preferring a sunny spot in a moist soil. the flowers are held above the foliage on short stems & are very prolific. A really useful delicate effect plant.

This particular variety has prolific, delicate nodding bells of flowers, with dark pink to red outers with dusky pink to pale orange centres repeat flowering over a bright green rosette of leaves from May onwards.
