Gillenia trifoliata

Gillenia trifoliata, known as 'Bowmans root' is a great hardy perennial for partial shade, bearing masses of delicate, star shaped white flowers from midsummer on reddish stems contrasting with its dark leaves. During the Autumn the flowers then develop into attractive seedheads, with the foliage turning a fiery orange-red.

Grow in moist, well drained soil in part shade with ferns & other shade lovers where they will add colour & interest.
