The Miscanthus group of grasses should, in our opinion be known as the King of grasses. A very adaptable & diverse range of cultivars, all of which are reliable. Having a wide range of heights & structure plus finger like flower heads with a subtle range of colours which are produced very late in the autumn, and last well into the winter. They all require full sun to part shade in any soil and will grow in the same spot for many years quietly increasing from a central clump, but not running or becoming invasive. Suitable for mass plantings, use as a single specimen, or even in large containers.

Maintenance: As with most of the late season grasses, leave standing through the winter months, (covered in frost or dew they really look outstanding ) then cut back down to 5 - 10cm in late February just as the new season shoots are forming, although this seems drastic these grasses will quickly make height through May to September responding well to hotter months which will encourage flowering.
