Passiflora punctata 'Purple Haze'
Known as the 'Purple passion flower' an unusual & striking semi - evergreen climber which has unusual flowers white with a purple frill and dark red/purple centre,
It has dark, glossy lobed leaves and produces egg shaped yellow-orange fruit in the autumn. (ripe fruit pulp is edible, but unripe fruit is toxic)
This stunning climber can be very fast growing so its ideal for covering a south or wet facing wall, and can be kept trimmed back to its allotted area if needs be.
Ht 4-8m x Sp 2.5-4m Prefers full sun to dappled shade in a moist but well drained soil, best grown against a sheltered wall. Cut back after flowering removing dead or damaged stems in the Spring before regrowth
