The Pennisteums are known as the 'Fountain grasses' characterised by their layered dome shaped foliage clumps and as they are warm season growers well renowned for their narrow elongated flowers in late summer through to the Autumn, looking stunning with winter frosts and late season dew.
'Hameln has large caterpillar like flowers that emerge red then fade through purple shades to beige. A compact plant really nice raised in a container so you can appreciate its flowing form, or planted in groups to great effect.
