Known as the Russian sage, its stunning vertical features of narrow whitened stems, with fine narrow grey leaves are topped in mid-summer onwards with attractive long spires of lavender-blue flowers. this plant is a late flowering hardy perennial or sub-shrub, forming a slightly woody base which can be cut down each spring to a framework giving lovely fresh growth each year.
