Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Blackfield'

Known as bistorta Blackfield, this stunning variety bears long stalked spikes of dark, almost blood red flowers in profusion over fast spreading, clumps of prominently veined ovate leaves. The flowers are much loved by bees and other beneficial insects and compliment most grasses and perennial plants. Great as a ground cover in sun to partial shade in moist but well drained soil.
