Known as the cape figwort, a native of South Africa, this upright small shrub/hardy perennial has dark green leaves topped with tall spikes of tube like pendulous flowers in stunning orange red colour. In mild areas it will stay evergreen & prefers a warm sunny position, grows well in containers or in a border planting. In colder areas it will die right back. and can be cut back hard to re-appear in the Spring.
