Known as the Whorled or Clary Sage popular for its attractive upright, arching red stems lined with whorls of rose purple bracts, studded with small violet-blue flowers, rising above a mound of large green leaves. Prefers full sun in a well drained soil, well away from cold drying winds! It can also tolerate a little dappled or light shade. Being both drought and deer tolerant, whilst a magnet for all pollinating insects makes this Salvia a great choice for mixed perennial plantings, prairie borders, City Gardens & coastal areas.
Long flowering from early summer to late August if deadheaded regularly !
