Tetrapanax papyrifer

Tetrapanax otherwise known as the Chinese rice-paper plant is a super exotic, jungle effect shrub with massive jagged palmate leaves up to 60cm across. Extremely fast growing in warmer weather, giving a spectacular show, it will stay evergreen in milder regions but will be deciduous in colder areas and require a small amount of protection. remove any tatty leaves as required and cut back to required size in the Autumn.

Prefers a sheltered spot. in rich fertile, moist but drained soil in sun to part shade. perfect for containers and mixing with other exotic effect plants such as Banana, Cannas and Phormiums.
